Greg "Gig" Franklin competes In "Roy Hobbs" 2007 Worlds Series

Gig, was given the starting assignment in the final game of the 2007 Roy Hobbs World Series game.

The game ended in a 2-0 loss to the “Chicago Fire” Gig gave up one earned run and only 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking only 2 batters.

Gig batted .476 for the 8 games series and had a 1.76 earned run average. A Pro contract is still a possibility!

Keeping in touch

Hi All--

Most of you don't know me, because I was only at Woodward High School my senior year (1966-67) but I thought I would check in. I live in SF and have been married for 26 years to Stephen Ness. I have three children, Alexander Ness (Harvard, 2004, currently an NYU Graduate Fellow in Music Composition, Devin Ness (NYU, 2007, currently residing in London on an NYU abroad program studying English) and Sally (15 years old) at Lowell High School in San Francisco. My husband and I have spent 26+ wonderful years in San Francisco and my parents are thriving (at age 86!!!) in Oakland, just across the bridge. I highly recommend Netflix--we have become totally addicted....as well as classical/baroque music--we attend the Philarmonia Baroque Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and my husband is on the board of Earplay, a contemporary music organization that produces new classical music performances.. Life remains good on the West Coast--don't hesitate to contact me if you make it out this way and we knew each other for the brief time I spent at Woodward. Maybe some few of us can work together to end the war in Iraq and secure the future for our children.

silent auction donation

Just wanted to thank John Applegate for his donation of a Myrtle Beach Condo
for 1 week. My sister & my granddaughter (4) and myself
spent a wonderful week, with beautiful weather, swimming, flying kites,
gatherin shells and just having a wonderful time. We basically
had the entire beach to ourselves and it was just beautiful. Thanks again
for the great donation!

Re: Garage Band Pictures of Woodward Rock Bands 60's

I have been compiling a listing and picture history of
the Garage Bands in our old Woodward High School area
during the 60's. Some where in Roselawn, Bond Hill ,
Swifton Village area, Hartwell, Cincinnati Gardens,
etc. Does anyone have pictures or stories thay would
like to relate to this cause let me know. I was with a
band called "Tony and the Bandits" also Garage band
in Bond Hill called " The Rhoade Runners" Some of The
names I remember were the Coghills (Us Two) and The
Winters (Debbie) who had a Brother I served with in
Vietnam as well. Any Info would be helpful and fun.
Let's have some fun with the past!

Happy Veterans Day

This was originally mailed on November 11, but we had some technical difficulties.

Thank you to all the veterans of our class for serving our country, and doing a job that most people did not want to do.  We owe you more than we can say.
